Mechanics

• Open to all players in groups of five (5) with characters at least level 20
• Open to a maximum of eight (8) teams with groups of five (5) members each. Registration is on a first come, first served basis
• Registration starts at 11:00am ACT and closes at 3:00pm ACT
• Briefing starts at 3:30pm ACT while the tournament proper starts at 4:00pm ACT
• A fifteen (15) minute allowance will be allotted for teams past 3:30pm ACT. All teams who are not present at the tournament area past 3:45pm ACT will be immediately disqualified
• Registrants must fill in the following data when signing up:

• The tournament will follow a single-round elimination death-match format
• Each round will run for ten (10) minutes or until one side is completely wiped out
• If there are still surviving members on both sides after ten (10) minutes have elapsed, the team with the most number of surviving members will be declared as the winner
• If both sides have an equal number of surviving members, the team with the highest level average will be declared as the winner
• The losers of the semi-final round will battle for 3rd place
• All participants must obey the game marshals at any given time during the tournament especially during the briefing of instructions during the trounament proper. Failure to do so will amount to the following penalties:
  • 1st Offense: One character penalty for the current round
  • 2nd Offense: One character penalty for the current round
  • 3rd Offense: Team is disqualified
• Players are expected to carry themselves in a respectable and sportsman-like manner. Any player caught trash-talking and/or using vulgar language in-game or otherwise will be penalized by immediate disqualificiation of his/her team
• The decisions of the marshals preceding the tournament are final

• Participating clans must make and bring a clan flag based on their clan logo to the event with the following dimensions and format:

NCsoft Reveals The Kamael, the Largest Lineage II Expansion

Epic Game adds All-New Race, Lands, Fortress Battles

AUSTIN, Texas, December 13, 2007–NCsoft® today announced the release of Kamael, the newest and largest addition to the Lineage® II franchise. At more than 1 Gigabyte, Kamael is the largest expansion ever for the massively multiplayer online PC game and adds an entirely new playable race, new lands, ongoing fortress battles, instanced dungeons and new account services to the game, which has continued to increase in depth and story.

The huge Kamael expansion is free to all current Lineage II subscribers. Lineage II is known as the gaming market’s premier player-versus-player (PvP) MMO, and since its launch in late 2003, has reached more than 17 million players worldwide.


The main feature of the expansion is a new playable race called the Kamael, one-winged soldiers who control a form of dark magic and are presented in different class paths based on gender, with both male and female characters possessing distinct combat abilities. The ultimate goal of the Kamael warriors, born on the Isle of Souls, is to earn a second wing and reach the powerful “final form.”

Adding to the intrigue and massive battles Lineage II is known for are clan-based, daily fortress battles. One day to go before Etherian Wars!

Helpful reminders for the Gludio Castle event.

With just one day remaining before the attack of Gludio Castle to celebrate the launch of Etherian Wars, the best clans of both Aria and Blackbird are in high gear for the preparation of the opening day of the biggest Castle Siege in South-East Asia! A total of 37 valiant clans from both worlds (as of 4:00pm ACT, November 16, 2007) are preparing with their superior tactics to claim the glory of being the strongest amongst others.


To prepare for this momentous event, we will be scheduling preventive maintenance on the servers two (2) hours before the siege time. Blackbird server will be restarting at 1:00pm ACT while Aria at 4:00pm ACT on the said date. Regular in-game announcements will be conducted to advise the players currently logged-on the servers at that time.

We also advise the following reminders for the players to make this event a success:

1. To minimize lag and stress on the worlds, players who are not registered in the event are advised to use the Broadcasting Towers in their respective towns to view the Castle Siege action. This will also prevent a character from being killed by unfriendly fire and lose large amount of XP.
2. You can use "Alt+P" to minimize the frames and reduce stress on your PC.
3. Avoid spamming and unnecessary use of skills for the benefit of other players.
4. Have fun! By the end of the day, a success of one clan is the success of the whole world noting that this is the first time that the Castle Siege feature was activated.

The calm before the storm

AS I walk the world of Ether I bear witness to a changing age. 'Till recently there were wars and blood feuds between the clans.


Fighting could break out at any place and at any time. Conflicts between races, large or small, were commonplace. Life was a struggle not only to succeed but also to survive. Then a sudden peace came. Violence was avoided even among the clans. In effect, commerce flourished. Towns were flocked by adventurers and merchants alike selling weapons and wares. Deals were brokered on every street corner. Adena changed hands in a blink of an eye. Several major thoroughfares were blocked by the sheer number of stalls. Even the Monster Race Track, a common meeting point, had to turn down patrons and expel those who get in the way.

But until when would this peace last? Already vassals, knights, and lords gather in clan halls. They meet in private to make plans. The members train themselves, fighting mythical beasts and spar amongst one another. Clans and alliances stockpile arms and resources. Smithies are fired up to make new and powerful equipment. Dungeons long silent were invaded by a sudden rush of fortune seekers going deeper into chambers that was ‘till now remained undisturbed. They plumb the depths for artifacts that are unparalleled when put beside those made in recent years. Even the cursed weapons, the Demon Sword Zariche and the Blood Sword Akamanah, have resurfaced and quickly change hands between those who crave power. It seems that conflict is avoided only because they wasted well needed resources. This is but the calm before the storm, each leader waiting as the lordship of Gludio Castle will be in contention.

I can only continue to walk, to watch. The future is in the hands of those who will take part. Those who are worthy shall weather the storm. Those most powerful can change the tides of fate.

This new era will start with the siege of Gludio.

Castle Siege Tips

1) Register in time - the NPCs for castle sieges require clans to preregister either for defense or offense
2) Know the castle layout - use google the layouts are there, it’s best that people in your clan know where to go and what to do
3) Know your enemy - estimate their average level, based from the armors they used and the skills available to them, understand the classes they used, who’s the overlord, who’s using mass root, etc. to identify who and what to kill first
4) use voice chat - honestly if u live in a cave and you don’t know what teamspeak and ventrilo are, you're out of your mind. The best clans in the world use voice chat for coordination and quick tactical thinking. If you find your clan unable to use these tools, prepare to pay the price of exp loss in a siege

What’s the difference between the two of them? Well ts is easier to configure, but vent has better sound quality.

5) change your clan leader before the siege - honestly, he's the only one who can capture the castle, you don’t want 300 players from the opposite side spiking him with damage, so it’s best to transfer leadership to someone else before you siege. It's another element of surprise
6) for defense - use castle NPCs, they're expensive but they're a good distraction for some noobcakes trying to break your defense
7) explain the rewards to your clan mates - honestly, if they don't know why they are sieging in the first place, they would not follow you and a clan that doesn’t siege is in fact a carebear clan, no offense to carebears.

Benefits of winning a siege
1) rep points for clan upgrade (2k rep from what some people told me or lesser)
2) able to tax the town (25% tax will piss alot of people and u might get overthrown, i think 13-15% is good) --> THIS IS A LOT OF MONEY make sure the money is distributed evenly or used for clan logistics
3) manor system - clan leader gets to sell seeds, its like the spoil skill for dwarf classes, it increases the item drop and some exchange items etc etc basically another cash cow
4) bragging rights - depending on the duration of the next siege, like in NA its 2 weeks, you have 2 weeks of utter trashtalking your weak opponents =P
5) Lineage started the siege system - its a FACT
6) Cool headgears and wyvern access for castle lord (yum yum)

What happens if you lose:
1) If the siege was well coordinated, planned out, everyone followed orders and used voice chat or played in one iCafe, thats ok, it only proves everyone needs to improve their toon, this basically means that before you siege make sure everyone is ready (e.g people are well geared, lots of pots, etc.)
2) You also lose rep points when u lose - this I have yet to confirm since the sieges I've join in NA, we haven't lost so im not sure if this is true
3) Don’t die a lot YOU ALSO LOSE XP DURING SIEGES - it may not as be as big as a normal death when there is no castle siege, but dont risk urself acting like Rambo infornt of your enemy
4) If you lose, its gonna hurt your pride, hell everyone's pride – a lot of people have done sieges from other games before, so they know about this. Some people unfortunately can’t handle the pressure =P

That’s all I can share for now, I bet a lot of people may share other inputs with regards to the siege, again everyone will have a try this Nov. 17 and I wish all the clans good luck =P

Someone asked what was the best castle in the game, it’s Aden- besides being cool and ass kicking beautiful, it receives taxes from other castles under its territory (Gludio, Dion, Giran, Innadril.

Lineage II South-East Asia Castle Siege Opens on November 17

The biggest and baddest castle siege in South-East Asia is set to open in all servers as nine castles all over Aden and Elmore will be opened for seizing every other Saturday and Sunday starting November 17!


Aside from superior tactics, in-depth knowledge about the situation is a tremendous advantage for any army. The Siege Centre makes sure that you equip yourselves with the important information about this new, exciting feature. It will also give you latest news on the progress of the clans and the competitions between alliances.

Lineage II Event - Clan 10

These days, Ether’s nobility holds little power when it comes to how each of the kingdoms are being ran. Cabals were formed and within those Cabals were the clans.

Clans hold much power in the two continents that the lords of the land have very high respect for these organizations. It is this very reason why the lords of Aden and Elmore combined resources to sponsor special clans. For within these clans, they know they would be able to keep their hold amongst the people of Ether.


Mechanics

* Open to all Etherians in groups of 10(ten)
* Form a clan with 10(ten) members
* Race to level 20(twenty) with first job class
* Take a screenshot with all the members present (make sure not to edit the screenshot)
* Write a background story of how your clan was formed. Make sure that the story is based on the Lineage II lore.
* Requirements for submission:
o Name of clan, clan leader and list of members. (Make sure that you write the names as is or you will be disqualified)
o Server where the clan is located
o Background story of the clan in word format (all entries must be submitted in English)
o Clan emblem (logo) in jpeg format (3x3 in)
o Screenshot of the whole clan (do not edit the screenshot)
* Email all entries to lineage2sea.events@asianmedia.ph (last day of submission: August 16, 2007)
* All entries submitted are subject to our verification
* 20 clans on each server would get a chance to win a customized Lineage II T-shirts with their Clan Emblem as part of the design of the shirt.
* A clan can win in either of two categories:
o Community Choice

* For Publisher’s Choice, entries will be judged based on:

Lineage II - South-East Asia 1st Ever EVENT - The Glimpse's End

Lineage II - South-East Asia or simply L2-SEA is going to hold an event in less than 18 hours from now entitled "The Glimpse's End". This will be L2-SEA's first ever event since they started their Closed Beta Test (CBT).

It is interesting to note that veteran Lineage II players have been waiting for events like this one from their old servers, and now, the whole world has set their eyes on L2-SEA to witness not just the event, but the service of AsianMedia. But, so far so good for them, the GameMasters (GMs) and Customer Support (CS) are getting nothing but positive feedback. Some members of the L2-SEA Community were even amazed that they are already implementing their Game Policies during CBT (Game Policy implementation usually starts with Open Beta).

Here are the details of "The Glimpse's End", the event that will mark the end of L2-SEA CBT, and will mark the beginning of a new world for all Lineage II fans in the Philippines, Singapore, and Malaysia - Lineage II - South-East Asia, an Official and Legal Lineage II Server.






The Glimpse's End

As the Closed Beta Test ends, we invite players to partake in a new journey into the Lineage 2 community. The end is coming close and a new dawn of gaming experience will arrive.

The war between Shilen against the gods had turned. With the combined powers of Einhasad and Gran Kain, Shilen had to think of a different strategy to win the war.

To distract the gods from their battle, Shilen sent out her army down to Ether to wreak havoc among the Etherians. The gods were in conflict. On one hand, they want to help the Etherians with their fight against the demons, on the other hand, though greatly diminished Shilen’s army was still strong. They have kept the onslaught on both heaven and Ether with no trace of giving up.

Caught by surprise, the Etherians ran amok as monster, demons and dragons invaded the different towns and cities of the continent. Even with the giants’ help in organizing the different races, they were still outmatched against Shilen’s army.

Cities were being destroyed one after another. And the Etherians have no other choice but flee their homes.

But who would help them? Who would stand strong amidst the chaos and lead the races to a safe haven? Would you be that person?

Building the foundation for great online gaming

Lead Game Designer of Lineage II, Jae-Hyuk Han, in an interview for MMORPG.com, reveals that 'The Chaotic Throne' will not merely be a continuation of the previous chronicles but a bold new gaming experience for both new and old fans of Lineage II. 'In the previous Chronicles, we focused on general MMORPG content such as PvE, PvP, Castle Sieges, etc. Starting with Interlude, we are considering larger scale content based on the foundation that we have made so far,' he says. Chronicles are large-scale updates to Lineage II done every half year which gamers may download for free in the form of a patch. Each chronicle also adds a great deal of new content to the game, including new skills, quests, areas and items.

Understanding local gamers key to AsianMedia's success

SINGAPORE : In what's seen as a boost for online gaming in Southeast Asia, Korean gaming giant NCsoft Corporation will be hosting, for the first time, its latest "Multiplayer Online Game" in the Philippines.

The company has sealed a US$5.5 million deal with games distributor Asian Media Development Group.

This will likely pave the way for more major games developers to choose this region to host their online games.

Lineage 2, The Chaotic Throne is an AAA game. That means it's a major production, similar to Hollywood blockbusters like Lord of the Rings and Spiderman. So it's no surprise the Lineage franchise has a subscriber base of 14 million gamers worldwide.


And so its really coming in the Philippines, Singapore, and Malaysia. It is about time because there are countless gamers, both L2 and non-L2 fans who are waiting for this game for years!! Many wonders why NCsoft only recently decided to give us South-East Asians our own server.

This also sealed the South-East Asian region on the online gaming market map, for many years we all but felt ignored by these giant online game developers. In fact, not just us but the Australians and New Zealand gamers as well, in some popular guild sites like the Holy Order of the Light, Australians have told their friends and guild allies that they will migrate to Lineage II - South-East Asia once it is out.

I guess this is a strong message to NCsoft, extend L2-SEA to the Autralians and New Zealand gamers! I know how they feel, it is so very hard to play on a server with a timezone that is on the other side of the world, L2-SEA is their best choice, and not only that, the Australians and New Zealand gamers will feel at home together with the South-East Asians.

So NCsoft? Do consider this seriously.

Lineage II South-East Asia Beta Next Month

According to the TMCnet report dated May 2007, the Beta of Lineage II-SEA will start next month, meaning June 2007, and the commercial launch a month later, or July 2007.

About 2000 years ago...

An ancient race called Kamael were separated from the land from which they came and was never to return. They tried to survived until the Awakening, when rumours of new lands, new continents were discovered. Since then, the race of Kamael initiated a series of communication with the rest of the world.

The head of the Kamael met with the representatives of the other races. They saw the military training of the Kamael and was convinced that this race will help put an end to the chaos in this world. One of the guests was particularly impressed with the great sword of one of the Kamael warriors and saw its power as like a magma erupting out of a volcano.

Another said that the female Kamael who was using a bow gun to hunt, caught his attention. He continued that perhaps they were the hidden ancient warriors of the old or maybe the ones seeking to escape a constrained fate, but what is certain is that they too were destined to, just as us, to make the future for ourselves.

Though we do not know what follows this appearance or discovery of the Kamael race, humanity must delay no longer the preparation to be ready for them even if it means following them toward hope and anticipation and even toward apprehension about the future.

NCsoft Launches New Era in Lineage II

Interlude debuts Lineage II Chaotic Throne chapter; Introduces dinosaurs and new dueling system

AUSTIN, Texas, April 14, 2007 — NCsoft® today announced the release of Interlude, an expansion to the massively multiplayer online PC game Lineage® II in North America and Europe. Interlude is the next step in the evolution of Lineage II, forming a bridge between The Chaotic Chronicle and the game’s next chapter, The Chaotic Throne. The Interlude expansion is free to all current Lineage II subscribers.

Lineage II, the gaming market’s premier player-versus-player (PvP) massively multiplayer online game, has reached more than 17 million players worldwide since its launch in late 2003.


The Interlude expansion offers a variety of new challenges to players, including the new Primeval Isle, which is home to many new creatures making their first appearance in Lineage II. These include Wild Striders, Pachycephalosaurus and the deadly and powerful Tyrannosaurus Rex. Primeval Isle is a lush and beautiful zone, but in the tradition of Lineage II, offers tough tests and is not a zone for those unwilling to take on great challenges. Mastering the beasts on Primeval Isle will require strategy and teamwork from players and clan members.

Enhanced single-player elements such as the new dueling system will enable players to challenge friends to one-on-one fights or party-versus-party battles. By dueling, players can understand the nuances of their character better than they ever have before. In addition, there are no penalties for defeat in Lineage II’s dueling system, so players are free to let loose and test their mettle.

Also available for mid to high-level players are more than 150 new bonuses to enhance and customize weapons. Lower level players can take advantage of the new Shadow Weapons, a “try before you buy” service offered by the village weapon vendors. This new feature makes weapon selection more effective and simple.

“I’m very excited about what Interlude offers,” said Adam Davidson, the North American producer of Lineage II. “It introduces elements of the game’s next evolution, The Chaotic Throne, as well as unleashing dinosaurs. Lineage II: The Kamael - The 1st Throne

This April 11, 2007 Wednesday, Korean Time, Throne 1: The Kamael will be released on the Korean Public Test Servers. The Kamael is the first "Throne" for Lineage II's Saga 2: The Chaotic Throne. If you are confused, you can read my earlier post about it by clicking HERE.

Clear? Good. Well there is not much info about The Kamael except that this will be the chapter (if you will) wherein they will introduce the new race for the game. If you watched the Interlude CG Movie, then you've notice the one-winged being at the last part of the movie - that's the new race.

This was confirmed, or rather, mentioned by a Lineage II developer from the interview The Making of Interlude, where Mr. Developer said that they listened to the suggestions of the players.

Discussions on the US Lineage II boards goes on that the developers tried to make the "Giants" race playable but the balancing issues it will introduce outweighs the game's stabilitity and fun, so there will be only one race.

In that interview, they also mentioned about inter-server warfare. Though not confirmed, it is rumoured that the said feature will be included with Throne 1. There is another feature waiting to be implemented - the "Fortresses" and is also rumoured to be included with Throne 1. Not much info is available except that it will be used for later Throne expansions, maybe, just maybe, it is related with the inter-server warfare feature or... drum rolls please...

The "National Wars" as D34dly refers to it. To explain, it is a feature wherein different Lineage II regions will be able to compete with each other, so it will be L2-US vs L2-EU vs L2-SEA vs L2-KR vs L2-JP vs L2-CN and so on.

But here's another bit of info, while there will be a new playable race, there will also be a new non-playable race. No one knows for sure if the "Kamael" race is the playable or non-playable race, but common notion is that the Kamael is the non-playable race, while... drum rolls again.... the "Garcia", the playable race.

Confusing? Yah. Let's just wait one more day (as of the time of this writing) to know the whole story. But before you go, hey, watch this teaser trailer of The Kamael - The 1st Throne.

Interlude Launch Events

Adventurers' Guides and Event Gatekeepers are back in the towns of Aden and Elmore to help new and veteran players experience Interlude.

From April 11 to 24, all players can take advantage of special event teleport locations, and characters under level 25 can receive special weapons for no charge from April 11 to May 8.

Event Gatekeepers

Speak to the special Event Gatekeepers in the towns of Aden and Elmore to teleport to nearby hunting grounds for a discounted price.

Adventurers' Guides

The Adventurers' Guides are stationed in Gludin Village, the Town of Gludio, and the starting villages to assist new players.

If you are a character level 6 or above, you can acquire a special novice adventurer's weapon. Speak with the Adventurers' Guide to receive an exchange certificate for the special weapon. Speak to her again to choose your weapon, and you can exchange for a different weapon of the same level at any time.

Any character with a PK count of one or more is not eligible to receive a certificate.

Original Lineage Game Grows Even Larger with Latest Free Content Update from NCsoft

New maps and skills, player choices and advancement among the numerous updates in Episode 5, Temple of Shadows


AUSTIN, Texas, March 29, 2007—NCsoft® today announced the release of Episode 5, Temple of Shadows™, the latest free content update to its North American Lineage® service. The release is the latest for the original Lineage game, now nearly a decade old, which continues its leadership position in the online computer games space with a worldwide customer reach of more than 50-million people.

In Temple of Shadows, players will see nearly 450 megabytes of new content including a first look at the Dark Elf controlled, Lastabad corridor. The Lastabad, a complex, maze-like dungeon, will provide a formidable test for all players who must resolve its puzzling turns and time-locked doors while fighting hordes of Dark Elves. Failure to navigate the maze in the allotted time teleports the player back to square one to begin again.

Want to make a Lineage fashion statement? The earring is a new wearable introduced in Temple of Shadows. Additional features introduced in Temple of Shadows include new morphs and skills and new monsters to summon during combat including the Lava Golem, Dire Bear and Cockatrice.
