Anticipation heats up for Lineage II: The Chaotic Throne

A new saga unfolds as 'Lineage II: The Chaotic Throne' arrives in Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines simultaneously with the rest of the world. The much anticipated Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG), created by Korean gaming giant NCsoft and distributed in the South-East Asian region by Asian Media Development Group (AsianMedia) has a plethora of new features designed to appeal to the franchise’s millions of fans as well as those entering the world of Lineage II™ for the first time.

The first saga of Lineage II, called 'The Chaotic Chronicle' recently came to its conclusion with the end of its last chronicle, 'Oath of Blood'. Currently, Lineage II fans are whetting their appetite for the game with 'Interlude,' a transitional expansion between the old set of chronicles (The Chaotic Chronicle) and the new saga (The Chaotic Throne). The medieval fantasy MMORPG has drawn millions of loyal fans attracted to Lineage II’s combination of fantasy combat and the unique social/political/economic power struggles developed through the community and by the in-game actions of individual gamers.

Gamers may play alone or as part of a group to fight monsters and complete quests for new skills, experience points, and items. Lineage II also features siege warfare; but to make sure PvP stays under control, the design includes a Karma system that provides negative consequences for killing other players when they do not fight back.

Lineage II features greatly improved third-person 3D graphics thanks to the Unreal Engine developed by Epic Games.

Making sense of The Chaotic Throne

Lead Game Designer of Lineage II, Jae-Hyuk Han, in an interview for MMORPG.com, reveals that 'The Chaotic Throne' will not merely be a continuation of the previous chronicles but a bold new gaming experience for both new and old fans of Lineage II. 'In the previous Chronicles, we focused on general MMORPG content such as PvE, PvP, Castle Sieges, etc. Starting with Interlude, we are considering larger scale content based on the foundation that we have made so far,' he says. Chronicles are large-scale updates to Lineage II done every half year which gamers may download for free in the form of a patch. Each chronicle also adds a great deal of new content to the game, including new skills, quests, areas and items.
